If your yard is patchy, you've adjusted your watering schedule, done at-home treatments, you've done everything you can and still can't seem to get results, you most likely need to aerate and overseed. When soil becomes compacted, essential ingredients for healthy grass is unable to reach the roots, resulting in patchy, stubborn lawns.
When soil becomes compacted, due to numerous factors such as age and soil type, water, nitrogen, and oxygen are blocked from your lawn's root system. Without these essential nutrients, the root system becomes suffocated and stunted. By removing 'plugs' of the lawn, the soil is able to expand, and the roots are able to breathe. Now that the root system is able to access the things it needs, your grass goes back to its healthy growth cycle, resulting in strong roots and healthy grass. In addition to the aeration, overseeding can help kickstart the visual appeal of the lawn, by filling in the patchiness quicker than waiting on your grass alone to grow back in.

Kentucky Bluegrass is ideal for our Indiana climate and is exceptionally hardy in the winter. The species itself is lush and durable, suitable for high-traction lawns. With medium to fine strands, this grass is also comfortable on bare feet. The best feature of this species is that the growth rate slows throughout the summer, meaning less mowing maintenance, and more time spent enjoying your lawn.
With a fast germination period, this grass aids in quick results for the visual appearance of your lawn. While Kentucky Bluegrass takes 14-30 days to fill in, Rye Grass provides quicker results at just 7-14 days. While your aeration/overseeding aids in the strength of your lawn, the Rye Grass fills in the gaps and stability of the lawn.
The average cost for the aeration and overseeding joint application is $223.20 for the average residential lot in Hamilton County. Your quote will be adjusted to reflect the correct cost if your lawn exceeds the standard lot size.

The full effects of aeration can take 45-60 days to see the best results. As you are disrupting and changing the overall root system, the lawn needs 1-2 months to produce new, healthier growth. If you want more immediate results while the lawn is adjusting post-aeration, we highly recommend overseeding. The results from overseeding can be seen in as little as a week, and aid in the visual appeal of the lawn.
we recommend watering your lawn twice a week for 4-6 weeks.
While we highly recommend our professional grade mix, specifically chosen for our Indiana climate, you are welcome to provide your own seed. The cost for this would just be the labor for the seed application, and would be quoted specific to the size of your lawn.
You do not need to be home, as long as our team has full access to the yard. This means pets are put away, locked gates are unlocked, etc.
Overseeding does not require utilities to be marked. For aeration, we will call 811 to have all public utilities marked. You as the homeowner are responsible for marking any private lines such as an invisible dog fence, a gas line to a fireplace, etc. Details for these markings will be included in your quote.
