The New Concrete Process
Our Process
New concrete for pool decks, patio, porch, steps, driveway, sidewalk and fire pits. Everything is done on a "per square foot" basis and priced. The process is relatively simple. After meeting with a 317 Outdoor Living team member to measure the space, you will then select the finishes. 317 Outdoor Living will handle the rest. From permits, to scheduling and installation, 317 Outdoor Living makes the concrete process very simple.
1 - Selecting the Texture
There are many different textures to choose from. The most standard texture is broom, brushed or sponge. This is what most people would find on a driveway or sidewalk. Stamped is very common for patios and entertaining areas. Sand finish or exposed is a way of having the small stones show at the top of the surface. Your team member from 317 Outdoor Living can provide examples of these textures. The different textures have different prices as they become more complex and labor extensive.
2 - Selecting the Cuts
The standard is what we call basic expansions. Expiation joints are installed to allow the concrete to settle and move with the ground's movement. It is extremely common for concrete to crack. Properly installed expiation cuts will minimize the surface "hairline" cracks.
3 - Boarders
Boarders are a way to outline or showcase a section of the concrete. Standard is to not have a boarder or band, however, if you would like one, please ask your 317 Outdoor Living team member about options and pricing.
4 - Color
Color added to your concrete can enhance your entertaining space to a different level. Standard is "base mix". That is the color you will find on most driveways and city sidewalks.
